Blessed with a good sense of humor and cursed with bad hair, Karyn found art as her outlet to coping with childhood. She spent hour upon hour drawing and painting the angst of her youth away, which in spite of it seeming quite sad, proved to be her future happiness.
While college-bound in 1984 Karyn packed her bags and left White Bluff, Tennessee (yes this is true) and headed for the great Northwest to find fame and fortune. Instead she found large student loan balances and great friends. She worked hard at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and left with a fat portfolio and a brain chalk full of ideas of how to change the world. With her big head full of stuff she ambled from creative outlet to creative outlet trying to find her 15 minutes. Then one day while placing a banana in the hand of an Abraham Lincoln statue she fell backward and knocked a cup of coffee out of Alicia's hand and they became friends at first sight. The rest is history.
Post college, Karyn has worked for various advertising agencies and web development firms. Her list of clients includes the likes of Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Countrywide Home Loans, Jantzen, Patagonia and a host of small and mid-sized local companies. She still dreams of painting appliances and finds solace in drawing on her children's walls at night.
